HTML Lesson 6
Body "Building" There are dozens of body tags you can use, we will take a look at a few such as bgcolor, backround, align, valign, and a few others that I will throw in later. Lets get started as you already know you need to start your page with <html> and the add a <head> and <body> tags and then close them, so go ahead and then well move on to adding text with color and alignment. Ok lets add some text to that plain old page, first type a brief paragraph in your body and the put a title on it then we will center your title. Now you have you text so lets format it. Later we will add background colors and text color for the body. Now add a center and an end center tag to the title of your document. Here's how, just before and after your title put <center>your title</center> and then hit save. Oh did you remember to put paragraph breaks between your paragraphs, if you have more than one or if your paragraph is big, also you need a paragraph tag between your title and your paragraph. Great now you are ready to add some color. Ok go back to the body tag and type this: <body bgcolor=lightblue text=black>. Now save and reload your page and take a look at the results.
Your output should resemble: <html> <head> </head> <body bgcolor=lightblue textcolor=black> <center>The Fishing Trip</center> <p> Johnny and I went out for a day of fishing and when we arrived at the lake we started out on the East Side. The lake was beautiful and Johnny was first to cast out, and just after he started to reel in his line WHAM! A fish took his bait WOW! What a fight, that fish was tearing through the water like a tornado, but Johnny was having no trouble holding on to his pole, finally he got the upper hand and was gaining ground reeling the fish in. <p> </body> </html> Great in the next lesson we will add a few more body tags and alter the text more.
